Also you can't jump while you're running, and the player character couldn't turn slower. The process is repeated until you die, and the current save game is ruined. So you end up getting shot by enemies, only that it takes ages to recover from getting damaged, so by the time you regain the control of your character, you get shot again. Why was this design decision made anyway? Didn't consoles have enough buttons back in 1995? To make the matters worse, toggle shortcuts (f1-f4) don't seem to register at all sometimes. instead of having hotkeys deliver simple actions like attack, jump, sneak, or run, you have to toggle through 4 different modes for no apparent reason. In my view, LBA1 fails as action or adventure.Īs an action game, it has the poorest controls. LBA1&2 are two of the most addictive, entertaining games EVER!! There's never been anything else like it. well, I guess it's just not their kinda game.Īmen, man. I can't even begin to describe the countless things that makes these games so great. The second one has smoother gameplay, but I like the first one just as much.

LBA 1 & 2 are two of the best games ever. well, I guess it's just not their kinda game. I can't even begin to describe the countless things that make these games so great. apart from these minor issues, they're absolutely GENIUS. The first two problems have both been fixed in LBA2. In LBA1, saving is awkward and (unless you have the LBAwin patch) running into walls hurts (which can be a bit tiresome) and enemies respawn if you leave the area and come back. an adventure in every other sense of the word Early on in the game you are limited to whom you can attack and as you progress and grow more powerful, you can take on more dangerous enemies. It apparently cannot kill or disable the aliens who are shooting at you anyway
